The main purpose of a siblingship test is to determine whether or not two siblings have the same parents. This may help to give you peace of mind by answering a pressing question you have always wondered about. Here at DNA Testing Centres of Canada, we also provide twin zygote testing, which determines if twins are fraternal or identical.
A siblingship test may beneficial for the following reasons:
There are two main types of DNA siblingship tests, which we may test for. Half-siblingship is when two or more people have only one biological parent in common, while full-siblingship exists when two or more people have two common biological parents.
A siblingship test requires each sibling do a buccal (cheek) swab. This consists of you rubbing a soft swab on the inside of your cheek for 30 to 40 seconds, air drying it and shipping it back to us.
DNA may also be collected through other means. Common forensic samples are hair (must have the root ball attached), mucous on a tissue, earwax and toothbrushes. However the cost will be on average $125 extra.
We are available to review the test with you and to answer any questions you may have along the way. Whatever your reason may be for siblingship testing, please feel free to get in touch with us today at 1866 863 5139 to set up a consultation for Canada DNA testing!
